"Recruitment consultants a hated profession" says Carroll
PR man Paul Carroll thinks that employers and job seekers shouldn't use recruitment consultants.
In a bizarre expression of this opinion I suspect Mr Carroll may not be getting future business from the recruitment industry as he compares recruitment consultants to wasps, whom he says have no purpose.
It would seem am irrational comment. Business owners are not daft yet they have been using recruitment consultants for years to find the right staff. Having been on both sides of the fence, as an employer one does often question the spend on recruitment agencies only to confirm the reasons why if you stop the practice for a while.
Appointing the best staff in many markets is highly competitive, and if you hold the opinion as I do that appointing the best people is more than half the battle in running a successful business, it's worth spending money to get it right.
Like any market, there will be some recruitment consultants better than others, so selecting the right ones to work with is key.
